Uniform and Equipment
Lakeside have a school uniform that all children should wear. Our uniform is based on the school colours of Deep Purple, Forest Green and Gold. The Harmony Trust is committed to supporting the provision of affordable school uniform for all children across our academies.
Uniform can be ordered via our online provider - Just-Schoolwear.co.uk
https://just-schoolwear.co.uk/product-category/lakeside-primary-academy/
Any unembroidered uniform can also be purchased from a retailer of your own choice which provides the same required practicality and smartness.
Children’s uniform should be selected from the following:
- School logo T-shirt, white, forest green or dark purple T-shirt, shirt or blouse (T-Shirt without the logo can also be worn)
- Grey/black shorts, trousers, skirt or pinafore
- Purple/white, green/white or yellow/white checked dress (optional for the summer months)
- Purple/Green School logo sweatshirt, sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece (items without the logo can also be worn)
- White/grey/black socks or tights
- Black shoes
Please name ALL items of uniform and equipment. It may not guarantee its safe keeping but it really helps!
Physical Education Kit
Physical Education (P.E.) needs special kit and it must be worn on the grounds of health and safety. Children without proper kit, where possible, will be provided with spare kit held in school so they do not miss these activities.
P.E. Kit
- White T-Shirt
- Black shorts, leggings, tracksuit bottoms
- Trainers or Black pumps
- Normal school sweatshirt, cardigan.
Currently, children will be coming to school in their P.E. kit on P.E. days. As they will be in P.E. kit all day their normal school sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece needs to be worn along with plain black, grey or navy tracksuit bottoms. Having their school sweatshirt on every day, ensures that the children still look smart and it is clear they are Lakeside pupils.
We have black shorts and white P.E. tops (plain) available for sale in school for £1 each. Please call the office to order and pay via ParentPay.
Children also need:
A ‘Bookbag’ with the school logo on to safely store and transport reading diaries, books and home learning to and from school. These are purple and available from Just-Schoolwear.co.uk
A school bag from another retailer without a school logo is also acceptable.
Pencil Cases and Personal Stationery
Children will be provided with all they need, however if children in Year 5 & 6 they have their own, named equipment it encourages them to be responsible.
Jewellery
We recommend that children do not wear jewellery, however we recognise that occasionally parents/carers may wish their children to wear jewellery therefore discreet items of jewellery may be worn such as: Items of religious significance, Watches (not expensive ones!) Studs for ear/nose piercing and so on.
If your child is to have a piercing please try to arrange this for the summer holiday so studs can be removed once back at school for P.E. activities.
All other items are considered unsuitable for school and indeed can be dangerous to others when playing. Any such items will be removed into the safe keeping of the school and returned at the end of the school day.
All jewellery must be removed for all P.E. activities this is for safety reasons. It is the pupil’s responsibility to put it somewhere safe during this time. If it is not possible to remove the item the child may not be able to take part in the full P.E. session. Stud earrings can be taped, using micropore tape - the children will be given a piece of micropore tape for them to tape over earrings. There may be times that the child will not be able to take part in certain parts of the lesson with taped earrings.
Each half term , we will take lost property to be recycled. It is parent's and children's responsibility to check lost property regularly.
