Safeguarding
Safeguarding at Lakeside Primary Academy
At Lakeside Primary Academy, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children is at the heart of everything we do. Every child has the right to feel safe, valued, and respected, and we are fully committed to creating an environment where pupils can learn and flourish without fear or harm.
We work in partnership with pupils, parents, carers, governors, and external agencies to ensure a robust safeguarding culture throughout the school. All members of staff receive regular safeguarding training, follow clear reporting procedures, and are vigilant in identifying and responding to any signs of abuse, neglect, or concerns about a child’s wellbeing.
We have a comprehensive safeguarding policy in line with national and local guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). Our safeguarding approach covers areas such as:
-
Child protection and early intervention
-
Online safety and digital wellbeing
-
Mental health support and pastoral care
-
Preventing peer-on-peer abuse and bullying
-
Ensuring a safe and secure school environment
If you have any safeguarding concerns—no matter how small—they will be taken seriously. Please request and ask to speak to one of the following members of staff:
-
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
-
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
