Year 2
This half term in Year 2 our topic is:
Old Macdonald had a farm!
Our geography topic this half term will be influenced by our trip to the National Adventure Farm. We will explore and taste food grown on farms and investigate how the seasons influence what farms produce. We will use maps to look at rural and urban areas and identify the physical and human features and then create our own farm using this new knowledge.
Over this half term, we will be focusing on various books all about animals. Following our exciting trip, trip we will write a recount of our day. We will look at The Tale of Peter Rabbit and retell the story in our own words as well as writing some instructions on How To Make a Sheep! We will finish the term writing an information text about farm animals.
In Science this half term we will be looking at the topic, living things including food chains. We will explore living, non-living and things once alive. We will learn what a predator and prey is and construct a food chain.
