Year 5

Raging Rivers!

 This half term, Year 5 learners will build on the previous knowledge the children have obtained in earlier years on topics such as the River Nile and the Amazon rainforest. This develops their physical geography skills by discovering how rivers are formed, the water cycle and pollution. This links to our English work based around The Wind in the Willows, classic tale of creatures who live by the riverside.

In science, we will look at Materials and their Properties. Children will study the properties that different materials have and the reasons for making things out of certain materials, including electrical insulators and thermal conductors.
