This half term in Year 1 our topic is:
A is for Africa!
This half term, our topic is 'A is for Africa'. In English, we will be writing a set of instructions on how to make pancakes, based on the book 'Mama Panya's Pancakes' in our shared reading. We will also be writing a fact leaflet about Africa, based on our learning in Geography. We will also be engaging in an 'Africa day', where we will learn more about music, food and dance in a practical way.
In Geography, we will be labelling where Africa and Kenya are on the map, learning about the climate and identifying the human and physical features in
Kenya.

In Maths, we will be learning the skills to measure accurately using a ruler, recognising and writing numbers up to 100 and counting in twos, fives and tens.
