Toilet Training Expectation

All children attending Lakeside Primary Academy are expected to be fully toilet trained before starting school. This helps promote independence, supports classroom routines, and ensures the comfort and dignity of all pupils.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Consideration

We fully recognise that some children may have diagnosed Special Educational Needs (SEN) that affect their ability to be toilet trained. In such cases, the following requirements must be met:

  • Documentation: Parents or carers must provide formal documentation of the child’s SEN.

  • Care Plan: Upon receipt of appropriate documentation, a personalised care plan will be developed in collaboration with parents, carers, and relevant professionals. This ensures that appropriate support, resources, and procedures are in place to meet the child’s toileting needs safely and respectfully.
