School Meals
FS2 /Year 1 / Year 2 Pupils: Universal Free School Meals
From September 2014, all pupils in FS2, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal at lunchtime. This offer does not depend on your household income or whether you receive any benefits – every child in these classes is eligible to take up the offer.
The government has decided to fund free school lunches for all pupils in this age group, following the Department for Education’s recent review of school food. In a trial, it was found that pupils who ate a high quality school lunch achieved better academically than those who did not.
Year 3 / Year 4 / Year 5 & Pupil 6 Pupils
School lunches are available at a cost of £2.40 per day, payment should be made via ParentPay and paid for in advance please.
Sandwiches may be brought but NO breakable containers or fizzy drinks in cans. We ask that parents/carers consider healthy choices for packed lunch items (e.g. no sweets/chocolate bars).
Mrs Knibbs as our Healthy Schools co-ordinator can advise if you need suggestions. See the office staff if you need to enquire about free school meals.
