In this topic, we will be learning about enterprise and we the children will be creating a stall for the summer fayre.  They will learn about how to develop ideas, creating a budget and then resourcing the idea.  They will host this stall at the summer fayre during Summer 2.  This topic will also link to our PSHE topic, where the children will learn about financial decisions, risks, debt and scams.

In science, we will fully investigate The Circulatory System and be able to identify and name the main parts. We will also make sure that we know the impact of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on our health. We will also look at The Digestive System and discover how nutrients/water are transported around the body

This half term is also SATs.  The children have received preparation for this and they will be completing revision during the first two weeks of the half term.

Home learning:

We expect children to read at home daily and they will receive Dojos for each time they read.  In Year 6, it is really important that they start to read for longer periods of time to build up reading stamina.

Home learning is handed out at the beginning of the half term. This can be found on the website, dojo and Seesaw.  We are happy to accept these at the end of the half term but if the children wish to hand them in during the term that is also fine.  The children receive dojos for each piece of home learning that they complete. As the children have all got an iPad, we are asking them to complete their home learning on Seesaw.  They can either complete it directly on Seesaw, use another app and then upload this to Seesaw or take a picture of the work that they have completed.  If they need a piece of paper to complete any of the homework, please ask their class teacher.

Our Class Dojo focus for this half term is: Helping Others

Here you will find links to the knowledge organiser, home learning tasks grid and additional resources to support any home learning.
