Year 6 (UKS2)

Welcome to the Year 6 Website Page

This half term, our Topic is based on The environment.  We will be answering the question

‘Is it too late to save the planet?’

We will be completing collage of a marine animal in Art and in Science we will be learning about evolution and inheritance.

In English, we will be reading the book One Plastic Bag and then looking at some non-fiction texts to find out more about the environment.

We will also be looking at some stories, facts and poems about the environment during our reading sessions.

In Maths, we will be learning about decimals, fractions and percentages and perimeter and area.

In PE, we will be looking at teamwork and dance.

PE Days

6A - Tuesday (Indoors) & Fridays (Outdoors)

6B - Monday (Indoors) & Wednesdays (Outdoors)

6C - Mondays (Outdoors) & Wednesdays (Indoors)

The chidlren will need to come in their PE kits on these days.

We expect children to read at home daily and they will receive Dojos for each time they read. They will receive an extra Dojo if they read the expected five times per week.

Homework is handed out at the beginning of the half term. We are happy to accept these at the end of the half term but if the children wish to hand them in during the term that is also fine.  The children receive dojos for each piece of homework that they complete.

Our Class Dojo focus for this half term is: Having a Can Do Attitude.

Here you will find links to the knowledge organiser, homelearning tasks grid and additional resources to support any home learning.
